Bathgate Silica Sand produce and distribute the highest quality silica sand, root zone and top dressing mixes for equestrian, industrial and leisure markets, throughout the UK.
Bathgate Silica Sand has been established for almost 60 years and is part of the Archibald Bathgate Group. Our site in Arclid, Cheshire comprises a well established silica sand quarry, processing plant and onsite laboratory. At BSS we are committed to providing a professional and efficient customer experience. To achieve this goal we guarantee quality products and the highest level of customer service.
BSS has launched Re-root, a brand new environmentally-friendly alternative to non-organic rootzone. After rigorous testing and research procedures customers can be confident of a quality assured product that performs.
Re-root contributes to national recycling targets by actively reducing materials sent to landfill. We only use the highest quality compost conforming to the BSI Publicly Available Specification for Composted Materials (BSI PAS 100).
Re-root delivers all the benefits of a non-organic rootzone with the added bonus of providing natural nutrients to the soil. This operates as an organic fertiliser which sustains nutrition, enhances root growth and reduces nutrient losses by leaching.
We have great pleasure in announcing that on the 1st October 2008 the Archibald Bathgate Group acquired Aztec Minerals. Aztec is a highly respected distributor of industrial minerals across the UK and Ireland and will be a valuable addition to Bathgate Silica Sand.
Our aims for the new partnership are to successfully maintain and develop Aztec’s high standards of customer service and products. Aztec Minerals of Nantwich, Cheshire has been established since 1992 and has a loyal client base; several have been with Aztec since the early 90s. Aztec’s main focus has been in the building and building products markets, including resin and cementation systems.
Bathgate will be making as few changes as possible and the company name Aztec Minerals is to remain the same. New contact details are to be issued to Aztec’s current customers in the coming weeks. To assure a smooth and successful transition Alan Goldwin (former Managing Director, Aztec Minerals) will hold a consultative position until late 2009.
The new “state of the art” plant on our own site at Arclid, Cheshire, allows us to bag our products on-site without the need for transportation to Congleton, thus considerably reducing our carbon footprint.
Our new Bagging Plant is now fully operational.
